Do you have a problem with  Grandma do you feel shes always unhappy with your gifts, to your face shes appreciative  and thankful but behind your back you feel it may be quite another story

Or is your problem with a teen in your life who doesn’t make any secrets about what she thinks of your gifts, it makes you feel lousy when you give someone you love and care about a bad gift and it certainly doesn’t make the recipient very happy either, these situations can often be over come by choosing unique gifts, something out of the ordinary not run of the mill buying unique gifts for women particularly if you can throw in either a little romance or sentiment your onto a winner every time.

There are always a couple of people on our gift lists that we hate to gift  shop for, that when it comes to gift giving occasions such as birthdays and Christmas the very thought of having to buy them a gift takes all the fun and pleasure out of gift shopping, but shopping  for those people we feel are  hard-to-please  whether they are our mothers or grandmothers or worse still ,our finicky little sisters, or picky teen daughters or even grand daughters doesn’t have to be such a challenge unique gifts for women always go down well

I’ve said it before  and I can’t stress it more how useful it is when choosing gifts for women to remember that we ladies suffer from a common psychosis,  whether we are wives and mothers, grandmothers great grandmothers or great great great grandmothers or even mothers in law all share one common secret we all don’t feel loved enough, nor do we feel we hear anywhere near enough, how much we are loved, cherished and appreciated by our nearest and dearest family members, we often wonder if there is anyone out there that really cares about us at all.

So play upon this weakness by giving a unique gift.Unique gifts for women ,are always a winner as to women an unusual gift ,implies time spent searching for something unique or unusual and time and effort expended on our behalf equals love affection and consideration . If there are any men reading this lets define what a unique gift is ,the dictionary describes a unique item as standing alone from the rest, it is radically distinctive and without equal, one of its kind , of a rare quality; unusual and limited in occurrence. Remember guys and gals the gifts you give not only indicate what and how you think of the person your giving the gift to  but it reflects what kind of person you are also. One great idea for unique gifts for women particularly if that lady is your wife and you have an  anniversary coming up , and it doesn’t cost hardly anything at all apart from your time .Go to your favorite flea market or second hand shop and find an ornate old frame paint or gold leaf it  . With your neatest hand writing, write out your wedding vows and frame them ,give it to her in the decorated frame.This is also nice for other female relatives when done with favorite poetry or a meaningful song.

If you can cook,if your a fantastic cook even better,  this is a really great and unique gifts for women idea, particularly if the lady in question is your mum, you don’t need to be a gourmet chef by any means but have at least mediocre cooking skills we don’t want to give food poisoning as a unique gift ,a unique gift it certainly would be but not one you would enjoy being remembered for.

Write up a menu of various culinary delights (e.g., Tantalizing Thai, hot and spicy Mexican, Indian or Chinese foods or just plain home cooking favorites, ) and have the gift recipient choose a four course meal from  the menu options.  Serve it up to them in either your home or theirs, to them alone or with their husband or partner, with you acting as waiter or waitress. For most ladies this would be a really memorable and unique gift idea as how often do most ladies get to sit down to a home cooked meal that they don’t have to cook them selves. If you cook in their home make sure you take care of the washing up too.

Offer to teach someone a skill that you have mastered, many ladies long to learn such things as knitting, crochet ,water color painting or,gardening. Older ladies often secretly yearn for better computer skills to better enable them to stay in touch with friends and family,or you could teach them how to text on their brand new cell phone imagine that a texting Grannie ,be patient, kind and thoughtful and don’t give up on them. You don’t have to make your own gift some of us are not talented in that direction but to, we ladies a handmade gift created with love by someone we hold dear is often the best gift of all . All right not the creative type yourself but you can still  pander to this very female flaw and choose a unique gift for your wife/mum/daughter that is handmade  by some one else, a handmade gift oozes  uniqueness by its very nature a handmade gift even if the handmade gift was not handmade by you  it epitomizes  time spent and care and effort taken if even only on  the part of the hand crafter .But a  handmade gift even denotes time and effort expended on your part , as handmade gifts are not sold at Walmart, you have taken time and gone to the personal trouble of deliberately seeking out a talented crafter, to if possible custom create and personalize a unique gift for the person in  question.

If possible if  that handmade gift can also unashamedly expresses a personal outpouring of your love and devotion, thanks and appreciation for all that your recipient  does and has done for you, as a Christmas or birthday gift. No woman on the planet could resist this- type of unique gift  Shop for unique handmade  Christmas and birthday gifts that feature  personal messages of love for that important, yet sometimes seemingly impossible to buy for, female of the family.

Will a unique gift displaying such an openly sentimental expression of love and affection work as a gift for a teen daughter,niece or grand daughter ?

Of course it will, they might not show it, and most Teen females may roll their eyes in exasperation at the slightest “embarrassing” display of parental emotion or affection. But, take a peek beyond the exaggerated faked embarrassment (and it is faked) -which truth to tell is all an act anyway. Although most teenage girls would rather die than admit it , an explicitly sentimental Christmas or birthday gift from her parents particularly from her mother will touch her heart deeply, and also may perhaps give her the much needed reassurance of your unconditional love during her often stressful emotionally tumultuous and uncertain teenage years . Ok so we’ve established giving unique gifts for women is a good gift strategy giving something that is unique and special to them, is the same as saying to them “you are special.”

Well that’s all well and good if you know the person well ,but how do you buy  unique gifts for women that are not so close relatives or ones that are not relatives at all , we can’t go around out pouring love and devotion to mere acquaintances, well of course not it would be both odd and inappropriate but the strategy of giving sentimental and unique gifts for women still holds true we just change the perspective or direction of the sentiment expressed .After all we must know these people at least reasonably well or why would we be seeking to successfully gift to them ,they must be important to us in some respect or we’d be giving them gift cards.

What I mean by redirecting the sentiment is instead of the love and affection you highlight coming from you, you reveal a personal knowledge that you have as regards the recipients love of something i.e. gardening, quilting love of music a pet a celebrity teen heart throb.

Knowing and remembering someone’s personal likes and dislikes expresses care and attention and interest, when you give this kind of unique gift although it isn’t as personal, it makes the gifts recipient think hey! That person must like me, they listened to what I said and even remembered it, the recipient then feels cherished all warm and fuzzy inside. And isn’t it always nice to know that someone out there cares; giving unique gifts for women acquaintances says all this.

On the whole women are way easier to buy gifts for than men even though men don’t think so, but then they themselves do not possess that sentimental Achilles heel that’s why most guys don’t understand what real romance is to a woman they get it confused with sex and corny displays of embarrassing fake emotion (hey lets not go there that’s for a another post)

Just because I suggested buying gifts related to an interest or hobby that does not mean you should rush out and purchase a tool or the latest gadget acclaimed to be the latest break though in that field as a gift , firstly you do not have personal knowledge of the hobby so you don’t know if its a good quality purchase or a piece of junk , secondly if it was a worth while purchase chances are the recipient would already own one and if they don’t chances are even greater that they don’t want it . In addition tools and gadgets as unique gifts for women usually don’t make the cut as they’re not personal enough.

This kind of gift is best shown by example, so of course I ‘m going to show you here an example from Pages from the Heart’s own gift book collection not just because its a good opportunity to plug my product which of course it is, after all what kind of business woman would I be if I didn’t try and sell my own stuff when the opportunity arose, but apart from that its a really good example of the kinds of unique gifts for women I’ve been hammering on about

I love this design its by far one of my favorites, as a gardener I appreciate the sentimental parallel the poem draws between  Mother Natures seasons and different colored quilts ,it took me a while to digitally collage all the elements of the design but its one that I am really satisfied with I just love the warmth of the fall colors they kind of remind me of  actually cuddling beneath a warm quilt on a cool fall afternoon. Pages gift books are all unique handmade gifts and this one ,not that I made it with the intention of it being a gift just for quilters, I just loved the poem and wanted to use it. By giving such a gift  as this to some one you know who quilts as a hobby you are playing off the recipients love of quilting ,you know its a subject for which they have a passion, so it can’t fail to please and your also exhibiting your personal knowledge of your giftees personal interests, its a gift on a lot more personal level than a pair of scissors or a quilting book, and as its a handmade gift its a gift so unique that they’re bound not to have one already,it will become a treasured keepsake and the envy of all her quilting  friends. A double whammy.

If you have acquaintances that are gardening enthusiasts you could give them a similarly unique gift but on a gardening theme as pages has gift book designs on a wide range of subject matter , but that isn’t what I actually meant, if you’ve got a gardening hobbyist to buy for, if their passion is Hostas or lilies you could do research on and buy a rare or difficult to find specimen plant that they have been longing for , to a gardener is one of the only times you can get away with giving a gift certificate because as a none gardener your recipient will completely understand that you don’t have the expert knowledge necessary to choose the plants and will fully appreciate the fact that you were  smart enough and honest enough to admit it and will love being able to pick the plants herself.
