Repurpose, Reuse , Recycle how far will you go to be Green.
Ok I’m into repurposing, reusing and recycling and I don’t like seeing things go to waste I am careful about excess packaging on the items I buy. I never send a letter when an email will do,I publish on line versions of all my tutorials so no one need print them out, All pages From The Heart Gift Books go out in recycled boxes collected from the local super market together with shredded paper from the unwanted pages from the books used to make pages gift books those with a mix of flyers and junk mail for protective packaging . I save old news papers and flyers for using as paper mulch for the garden. We watch a lot of movies in our house we have stacks and stacks of Cds and DVDs many of them now rendered unusable (constantly trying to find a use for these) by a the littlest of scratches , we were so fed up with this and all the waste that was created by the too easily damaged disks that we decided to buy two huge external hard drives on which we now store all our movies instead of burning the desired flick to a disk we now download it on to a USB memory drive and stick it in the front port of the DVD player many come with this feature now, its cut down on our Blank DVD purchases and waste by at least 98% we thought we were being both gentler to the environment and our pockets in the long run. I think of myself as an environmentally conscious consumer for whom being kind to our world was pretty high on my priority list but perhaps its all top show for when I discovered re usable washable fabric sanitary towels and would you believe crocheted tampons on Etsy…… well that’s just too green for me, even though I used terry cloth nappies for all of my four kids, the thought of re usable crocheted tampons is just too much for me. But many greener ladies than I are trying them out and say they are better and more comfortable than the store bought variety.
Another thing that leads me to believe that I am only a fair weather or part time tree hugger is that I wouldn’t give this or even the thought of this house room either

Comfort aspect aside ,they could of made it at least a little more aesthetically pleasing by not making the plastic cover see through and by the fact that the cover is plastic doesn’t this go against the very idea of eco friendly. If I’m going to reuse recycle and re purpose the finished product will not end up looking like the garbage it was created with (I hope). But having said that someone will by it wanting to make a statement I guess or perhaps appeal to college kids….but not me.
