These book styled sentimental handmade gifts , are handcrafted from damaged or abandoned real books, that have been donated or reclaimed from the recycling boxes of Niagara Canada .In the jargon of today they are upcycled or repurposed gifts .Some of pages handmade gift books are antiqued to appear vintage as if from a time gone by.
While Others have a more country feel about them , All the gift books are completely handmade by me in a small craft studio in the basement of my home ,hand painted, lacquered and decorated, with 3D paper tole , decoupage , paper filigree/ quilling and other 3D decorations. A poem or verse accompanies each personally chosen carefully selected graphic. No two handmade gifts are ever exactly alike they are each individually and lovingly handcrafted gift created with your recipient in mind . You will not find these handmade gifts or anything similar to them for sale at walmart or kmart I am proud to say.
The handmade gifts that I create are a more traditional adaptation of the altered book craft, created with the intention of appearing in most cases to be from a bygone age , expressing caring sentiments, in an an old fashioned way , displaying love and affection ,emotions which are often deeply felt, but too often seldom spoken , sentimental handmade gifts of poetry and images on the pages of a cherished old book.
All of Pages From the Heart Handmade gifts have been stiffened and lacquered or antiqued . In most ,a ribbon bookmark adds the finishing touch to these unique handmade gifts ,giving the appearance of an old family heirloom book , left open at a much loved page. All gift books come with stands ,each sentimental book of love are packaged individually where ever possible in recycled or repurposed packaging materials. not only to keep your costs down but to be friendlier to our environment.
It is difficult to take and display pictures that do justice to the gift books 3D aspect, the bigger the picture the better, but as we all know, multiple large files on one site take forever to load (and we don’t all have patience or broad band yet) so what I in my wisdom decided to do, is to display just a few larger images of my handmade gifts in their finished form,these can be found in the 3D gallery these will hopefully better depict the 3D paper tole and decoupage elements of my one of a kind unique handmade gifts . In most other places you will only see the flat graphic template of the gift book design before molding decorative painting or embellishment has taken place
